Fun Diving in Shangyang Island

[women divers...trying to dominate the underwater]

Together with a group with 15 Indonesian, an Australian couple, and a Korean couple, we went out to Shangyang Island this week-end. It took about 2 hours from Jakarta to Anyer beach by car. We departed from local harbor near by Anyer traditional market. From the harbor we went by a 20m wooden boat to the island. It took another 40 minutes to reach the island.

Our first dive spot was in Tanjung Bejo. The visibility in this spot is about 7m, not to good, but still we can see many beautiful schools of fish. We also met a giant turtle and several small turtles at the depth of 16m. And big moray. I dove here for about 53 minutes just before my oxygen ran-out to minimum level to 40 bars. The second dive was in Legon Waru. I feel bit scared here because a strong current was suddenly hit us. But the spot was quite nice, they have a beautiful giant coral reef. We dove for only 25 minutes due to strong current and big waves. But spent another 20 minutes on the surface just waiting for the boat to pick up us on the middle of the sea ! phew....!!!

Diving can be fun if you have a fun buddy diver. On this time trip, I have a very fun buddies divers....and most of them are women ! geeee....not only "noisy" on the surface, but even underwater ! :) We never stop joking and teasing each other, even when trying to help a friend who have a panic problem in climbing the boat....hehehe....

Almost late evening when we arrived back in Jakarta. We all tired, but full of smiles and joy. An unforgettable moment, a precious moment, for you shared it with those who valued friendship....
